Over the last two decades, the world of education has witnessed a dramatic transition from conventional classroom teaching to ultra-modern distance/online teaching methods. In fact, online schooling is increasingly becoming mainstream. However, despite its popularity, the vast majority of the education sector consciously stays away from such methods—due to its long list of drawbacks. From communication barriers, difficulty in addressing different learning styles to the lack of face-to-face interaction, an intense requirement for self-discipline and self-direction (on the student’s part), many believe that the cons of online learning outweigh the pros. So, they largely chose to stick to what has worked for generations, until now. The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled educational institutions to adapt to the new work-from-home environment. In this case, it means online learning. This sudden shift has disrupted the industry as most educators lack the know-how and technologies required to optimally conduct distance classes.

To answer this need, Radix—a global EdTech provider—has recently launched its cloud-based distance learning platform, the VISO TeacherView, a hybrid solution combining classroom management and video conference capabilities with easy one-click access.

The VISO TeacherView platform provides educators with the tools required to expedite efficient and collaborative distance learning. This interface helps streamline the learning experience while offering ease-of-use to both teachers and students. Using this platform, teachers can initiate online classes by logging into their portal and syncing them with Google Classroom or creating a new classroom. Once a dedicated link is generated, the teacher can share the link and a unique class ID with their students for joining the class.

During the class, the platform allows educators to share website links or exciting content with the students. It also provides teachers with complete visibility and control over the websites that the students browse. Teachers can also permit students to speak, one at a time, and initiate an individual or a group chat. During the class, they can share a Whiteboard with several features and allow students to contribute, making the entire process more interactive. They can also interact with students via surveys and quizzes to maintain attentiveness in the class. The teachers control all access to the board; they can lock the information, hide, or delete it.

They can also remove any student from class and hide the disconnected students. Once the teacher leaves the classroom, the connection terminates immediately. “All-inall, the VISO TeacherView helps teachers monitor student activities and evaluate performance in real-time, provide individual or group assistance, and implement collaborative learning methodologies,” states Nadav Avni, Marketing Director at Radix.

Simultaneously, the student interface lets them see the teachers’ screens and the names and avatars of their classmates. Through this virtual interaction platform, the students can ask for clarification using the hand-raise button, which the teacher can address via a chat or a group discussion. It further allows students to send important files to teachers from their Google Drives or the local storage.

Radix has been extremely meticulous around maintaining privacy policies by creating a GDPR-compliant platform. The addition of the new compliance features, the platform will also enable the school administration to supervise the virtual interactive classes and make fact-based decisions. The superintendent or principals can also use the unique class ID to join any particular class and observe the virtual classrooms.

What’s unique about the VISO TeacherView platform is its cohesiveness with regular classes and its adaptability to an emergency. For routine classes, the platform can be used to communicate with students who are absent from school and make them an equally integral participant in the entire collaborative learning experience. Whereas, during an emergency like a pandemic or extreme weather conditions, the platform ensures that schools can continue functioning regularly and seamlessly. “VISO TeacherView brings the traditional classroom experience virtually to teachers and students alike, making the impossible possible with a click of a button,” adds Avni. As a part of its corporate and social responsibility to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Radix has made TeacherView complimentary from March until July 1st to help schools support distance learning. The company further strives to expand its horizon beyond the many education institutions it already caters to.

Radix is also increasing its market share by partnering with leading global device manufacturers and vendors. This will help the company enhance the platform and establish itself as an industry-standard in device and classroom management. “Our mission is to redefine device management and consolidate all devices, processes, and stakeholders into one easy-to-use platform,” concludes Avni.
